We decided to patronize this shop that offered noodles and roasted meat rice.
Hock Beng's breakfast. It did come with some slices of Char Siew and Wantan. Personally, I think it was way too bland to my likings after I took a few sips of the soup.
Mei Kheng got this Nasi Lemak from the opposite stall that we were seated at. I personally like the shrimps as they cooked it with some hint of spicy and sweetness.
I bought it way earlier when we were still deciding on which stall to patronize. The sambal was a dry version one, prepared by blending dried shrimps with dried chilis.
I ordered this since the Nasi Lemak was not enough to satisfy my stomach. The skin of the roasted pork was crispy while the meat was lean even though it does came with quite a large layer of fats. As for the roasted duck, the meat was succulent and juicy, and was flavourful enough to go with the with rice.
Second round of breakfast after everyone has awake and before we cycled deeper into the Pulau Ketam.
Too salty and it lacks the sweetness that a good Cantonese Style should have.
Guek Theeng's breakfast. Soup was surprisingly good as it covers the bitterness of the bitter gourd.
Decent but lacking of "wok hei'. It does come with a generous ingredients of meats and seafood though.
Overall Atmosphere: 3.5/10
Overall Food: 4/10 (non-halal)Overall Price: 5/10
Overall Verdict: The breakfast food was way below average but definitely tasted better than our previous night seafood dinner.
