Restoran Makanan Laut Weng Kee @ Ulu Yam

After the dip at Sungai Tua waterfall, we went deeper into the Ulu Yam. We have Loh Mee in mind knowing the fact that Ulu Yam were famous for it's Loh Mee. The location of this shop was easy to be spotted. It was located on the right hand side of the Ulu Yam town if you are coming from the Batu Caves way. What I meant the town here was, there were 2 stretch of shop lots on both the left and right side. It is hard to miss the town.

Their specialties

Since it was only two of us, it doesn't leave us much choice of food. We ordered a single pax Udon Mee and 2 pax of Loh Mee.
Fried Black Pepper Udon Noodle
It tasted very flat and the black pepper taste were missing. A way below average Fried Udon Noodle.

Loh Mee
When we talked about Ulu Yam Loh Mee, their soup were very thick and dark in colour. And the way this restaurant prepared it is no different from the typical Ulu Yam Loh Mee.

Loh Mee
The Loh Mee was served boiling hot, the thick gravy were well flavoured and the noodles were spongy minus the unpleasant boric acid taste. However, I find the soup was slightly tangy though. I supposed Ulu Yam Loh Mee was meant to be like this. Anyway, it was still one of the better Loh Mee I have eaten to date.

All in all, the total bill came to only RM 14 which includes two Chinese tea as well. I reckoned the price is at bargain knowing that we will unable to find any fried noodles stall offering at their price. Making things better, their portion were very generous especially the Loh Mee which we have difficulty finishing it even though we were so hungry.

Fried Udon Noodle: 4.5/10 (non-halal)
Loh Mee : 7.5/10 (non-halal)

Atmosphere: 6/10
Price: 8/10
Verdict: One of the better Ulu Yam Loh Mee around!

Location: The town of Ulu Yam, Hulu Selangor
